External steel staircase recoating, Bath
Stripped and recoated an external steel fire escape with a durable protective system.
External steelwork takes a battering from the weather, and a fire escape has to stay safe and sound for years. This external steel staircase, set in a stone lightwell in Bath, was prepared and recoated with a hard-wearing protective system built to last.
The steel was cleaned back and prepared thoroughly, because on metalwork the preparation is what determines how long the coating holds. We then applied a durable, anti-corrosion finish in a deep black, working safely at height in a tight, enclosed space.
The finished staircase looks crisp and purposeful, with clean treads, sharp railings and a coating that protects the structure against corrosion. Exactly the kind of specialist, compliant work commercial clients and facilities teams need doing properly.
