What this covers
A flawless finish is decided long before the topcoat goes on. Surface preparation is the part that gets skipped by everyone trying to cut corners, and it is exactly the part we take most seriously. Across South Wales we prepare surfaces so the final finish lasts and looks the way it should.
Preparation covers filling and making good, sanding and surface refinement, plaster and render repairs, crack and joint repair, wallpaper stripping, damp and stain blocking, and priming and sealing. Each step matters: fillers need sanding flat, stains need blocking so they do not bleed through, and bare or porous surfaces need priming so the paint bonds and lasts.
We assess the substrate first, deal with any underlying issues, and only move to painting once the surface is genuinely ready. It is the least glamorous part of the job and the most important.

Paint only performs as well as the surface beneath it. Proper filling, sanding, stain blocking and priming are what make a finish look sharp and last, rather than peeling or flashing within months.
Yes. We carry out filling, crack and joint repair, and plaster and render making good as part of preparing a surface for decoration.
We use the right primers and stain blockers so water marks, nicotine and other stains do not bleed through the new paint. Active damp should be resolved at source first.
Yes. We strip wallpaper and prepare the wall beneath, ready for paint or new paper.
